Create your own Website

STEP 1: Why do you need a Website?

We suggest: “because everyone has”, “because yes” or “why not” are not the best answers to this question 🙂 Try to define as precisely as possible the goal you want to achieve via the website – in this way you will set a specific direction for further activities and investments.

A clearly defined goal will allow you to define your website’s target (i.e. target audience) and their expectations. Why is this so important? To be effective, the offer on your website should reach those people who are likely to be interested in it.

If you need any help related to SEO or your website development then SEO Services in Lahore is providing quality services in this era.

What could be the Purpose of Creating a Website? See the following two examples:

  • Creating a static website – this type of website only has an informational function. This type of website usually contains basic information about the company – offer, description of activities, contact details. There is rarely any new content appearing on the “business card” and the information on it is updated sporadically.
  • Creating websites based on the CMS system– through it, companies build their image and establish relationships with the target group. These are extensive websites that go far beyond the informational function of “business cards”. The content is regularly updated here – there are “news” or articles published on the company’s blog. Due to the fact that changes and updates are introduced very often, these types of pages must allow the owner to manage the page himself. Adding, removing or changing content is possible on websites with CMS (Content Management System) – you can read more about this in section 3.

STEP 2: The Appearance and Functionality of the Created Website

Considering the target audience, the purpose of the website and industry in which you operate, think about what functionalities you would like to put on your website.

Even on uncomplicated static pages, it is sometimes worth putting basic tools such as a search engine or a convenient contact form. When looking for inspiration, be sure to familiarize yourself with what your competition offers on your pages!

Identifying specific solutions that you liked will undoubtedly make your cooperation with the contractor easier when creating a website.

The second, equally important consideration you should think about is the look of the page. The graphic design will have a big impact on how your business will be perceived by potential customers (especially those who first meet her on the internet).

Of course, the key issue here will be your idea and your own sense of aesthetics, but the appearance of a website should also take into account the latest trends in design.

Good to know! In addition to graphic design, you also need to think about what materials (e.g. company information) you want to include on your website before it is created.

At this stage, based on joint arrangements, the website creator prepares and submits to you the preliminary design of the website. Only after making the changes indicated by you (if necessary) and the final approval of the project, it will be possible to start working on the next stages of creating your website.

STEP 3: Content Management System, or CMS

CMS is a system that allows intuitive management of a website and content that is on it – without having to manipulate HTML. Using CMS is similar to working with programs working in “windowed” systems, that is, for example, popular text editors.

The decision about whether you need a CMS system on your site depends on whether you want to be able to change the content on it yourself and easily. Remember, however, that a website based on the CMS system can cost much more. Here you can see how much a website costs.

STEP 4: Domain, i.e. the address of the created website

Before you start or work on a website, you will need to choose a domain for your business (unless you already have it), i.e. a unique web address where your website will be located. Domains consist of the following elements:

  • Domain name – the phrase that characterizes the website, for example, the name of the company. In the address www.example.uk domain name phrase is an example.
  • Domain extension – that is, the element after the name (in the example above it is part of .uk). The role of the extension is to categorize websites based on country (.uk for websites from the United Kingdom, .us for websites from the United States, etc.), page type (.com for commercial websites, .gov for government pages, .org for organization pages, .edu for education pages) or the region.

Due to the type of extension, Top Level Domain (TLD) is distinguished among website addresses – they end with a single extension, such as .uk or .gov. Lower-level domains (also called subdomains) have two- or three-member extensions, such as .com.pk.

Before you can use a domain, you must first register it. To do this, you need to choose the name and extension you want to give your website, and then check their availability (e.g. through the search engine of available domains at www. DNS. En Remember that you cannot use a domain that already belongs to another person (i.e. was bought by someone) – even if it is not currently used.

How do you find the perfect domain name? First of all, try to make it as short as possible and easy to remember for your recipients. It’s good if you put your company’s name in it, although you can also use the name of a characteristic product or service (e.g. Meble-ania.pl, manicure-wwa.pl). You can put any letters in the domain name (uppercase and lowercase letters are not distinguished), numbers and a dash. Recently, it has been possible to place diacritical marks in domain names.

Once you find the domain that’s right for you, you can buy one from one of the companies that deal with domain registration. The minimum period for which you must buy the right to use the address is usually 12 months. After this time you will be able to extend the domain’s service life.

STEP 5: Hosting, or Server Space

Each website consists of different types of files: text documents, graphics, and photos, data from e-mail, etc. Each of these elements must be stored on a hard disk, which will be uninterruptedly available and will allow users to view the site at any time. The services of “storing” a website on the hard disk of the server to which it directs it is called hosting.

You are probably wondering why your website cannot be saved to the disk of an ordinary computer with Internet access? Hosting centers are places equipped with specialized equipment, fully adapted to uninterrupted work (incomparably more efficient than “home” hard drives – even those of the highest shelf).

The hosting service provider is obliged to take care of the technical reliability of the services offered – fast internet connection, proper disk operation, and even protection of clients’ accounts and data against various types of hacker attacks.

What’s more, the rooms in which the servers are stored are constantly air-conditioned or ventilated, and also equipped with an emergency power supply system (thanks to which websites are available to users even in the event of a power failure).

Hosting services, like the domain, are purchased for at least 12 months, with the option of extending this period later.

You can also find free hosting offers on the internet. This solution is unfortunately not recommended, due to the many restrictions that are associated with it. These are among others:

  • Placing ads on the site without your consent (these may be inappropriate ads that will jeopardize your company’s image).
  • Significantly limited disk space.
  • Ads sent in emails.
  • Lack of account and data protection.
  • No scripting language support, e.g. PHP.

STEP 6: Launching the Website

When the contractor completes the work on creating the website, the appropriate domain will be registered by you and the hosting agreement will be signed – the long-awaited moment will follow. Your website will be available to users (sometimes this stage is preceded by a test launch of the page)!

At this stage, you will be able to focus on the content that will be posted on it (if you decided on a website with CMS) and on how to promote your website on the internet.

If all done and you have created your own website and now it’s live, then now it’s time to do SEO of your site. If you are experienced then you can do it by yourself otherwise you can get help from SEO company in Pakistan for more fast and quality services. SEO will increase your site ranking and also traffic that will increase your sales or users of your website.
