Deepika Padukone is not just India’s top-paid actress, she is also among the top 10 highest-paid actresses in the world, according to Forbes. After Priyanka Chopra she is the top 10 highest paid Actresses in the World. The one Bollywood star we expected to see on the list was Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka Chopra is left behind. However, Priyanka failed to make it to the top 10. Media has been abuzz with a rivalry between Priyanka and Deepika given the fact that both the actresses will be seen making her Hollywood debuts soon.

2017 will be an interesting year to watch out for. Women will be on top and that too two of the hottest females of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. Both their debut Hollywood films, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage and Baywatch respectively will release next year and everyone is already taking sides. We are excited because it won’t be an ordinary battle but a historic one. More so because it will be fought on a foreign land. So no home turf advantage. Deepika Padukone has certainly made a big splash in the past few years. She is ravishingly beautiful, a seriously dramatic actress, and also a great comedienne. She has an acting emotional range that's really impressive (Piku, Bajirao, you name it), and she promises to only get better from here on out. (And she was named Best Actress at the Filmfares this past year--not that that proves everything, but it's worth mentioning).

Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra, on the other hand, has been around longer. She made a big splash, too, when she began, and she has continued to put out (mostly) excellent performances in some pretty great films. Priyanka also has Filmfare Best Actress awards under her belt. And while I know film-acting and tv-acting can be different, I think she delivers a great performance in her American tv show, too.) She, too, has an acting range that goes from the silly to the sublime.

Priyanka vs Deepika
Priyanka Chopra has already made American viewers her fan with her successful debut stint in Quantico. They just love to love her. They love her acting, her smile, her hair… everything about her. She clearly has a fan base now which will only grow wider with Baywatch. Clearly, that’s one of the reason why her Victoria in Baywatch will be meaty and very important. No one to overshadow her. As for Deepika, the actress has to win over the audience with this film from scratch. She doesn’t already have a fanbase to focus on which might make things tougher for her. Remember the time when a UK tabloid couldn’t identify her when she went for dinner with Tennis ace Novak Djokovic and called her a leggy brunette. They even called her, Novak’s female companion, failing to get her name. That proves not many know about her in the West and that will be DP’s real challenge.

Screentime
After watching XXX: The Return Of Xander Cage‘s trailer people cribbed about Deepika Padukone’s screentime, which we agree was really short. But in the big picture, there are more pressing concerns for the lady. In the film, she is part of a group which also has two other actresses Ruby Rose and Nina Dobrev, both big in their own right. She will jostle with them for audience’s attention. Rose and Nina already have a fan following while Deepika has almost nothing to bank on. It’s a crowded film and we wonder how she will get noticed.
Priyanka Chopra on the other hand is the main villain in the film. There is no one above her. Imagine the screentime she will get! There is no one to overshadow her in the film and she wouldn’t have to compete with other actors with similar character sketch either.
